Labor rates for moulding installation projects start at:

 

$169* for the first hour of each trip and $119 an hour after that (that’s for 2 employees)

 

Rates listed above are the usual check or cash rates per hour for labor charged to our customers for installing or repairing crown, base and chair moulding (not including dump disposal fees or materials).

 

We charge for all time included in a customer’s project, including purchasing or delivering materials, and offsite work like painting trim prior to an installation, or for the time to haul away debris. This allows us to take on smaller projects for our moulding customers, rather than only lump sum projects with much higher minimums to show up.

 

Thanks to our processing partner Paypal, we do accept most major credit and debit cards now! Rates are slightly higher, please call our office for all of the details.

 

*$169 to $189 is the first hour of work charge depending on zip code of the job location. Some exclusions do apply, like same-day, after hours or weekend service or customers with pre-arranged billing agreements. Communities outside of our area of operations will be charged additional travel costs. We would be happy to answer any of your pricing questions, please call for details!

Great Question! Edward’s Enterprises is usually available:

 

Office: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm by phone in our office to schedule carpentry projects and ask questions about service.

 

Field: As far as scheduling work, for our typical rates listed above (I know we didn’t skip that section) we normally schedule work Monday through Friday from 7am to 4pm (holidays, meetings, kids with flus may affect availability).

 

Most projects get a 2 hour window of arrival, so expect something like 7am to 9am, or 10am to 12pm, or even 1pm to 3pm window.

 

We are available for emergency carpentry work based on a first come first serve system and whether or not we have a crew available. Expect to pay more for these types of calls (we have employees and overtime is what it is).

 

If you need us to come outside of those times, expect to pay a bit more, or experience different restrictions like job minimums, etc.

If you don’t see your community on the list, but you’re close by give us a call. We may be able to service your carpentry repair request or schedule an onsite consultation for an additional minimum hour charge and/or travel charge.

The most common crown moulding is made out of wood or a polyurethane. Wood provides superior aesthetic properties, but comes with the potential to warp, expand, or contract with variable weather conditions, as well as naturally lose its definition over time with aging.
 
Polyurethane moulding will stand up to climate changes & humidity. New developments in the composition have allowed this high density synthetic material to be extremely durable & stress resistant, meaning it won't scratch, crack, or attract bugs or termites.

There are three basic types of moulding. These include base moulding, chair rail, & crown moulding. In order to choose & decide which one you would like, you must first have a basic understanding of the most common types.
 
Base Moulding is installed along the lower portion of a wall & can serve as a decorative transition from the floor material & the wall itself. This type of moulding can come in several different widths. It is important to choose the right width because if it is too wide it could draw the eyes downward, however; if it is to narrow it may create an uneven feel.
 
Chair rail moulding is very practical because it protects the wall it is attached to from collisions due to rogue dining chairs. Chair rail moulding is reserved for use in dining rooms & can also create a visual barrier for contrasting wall coverings.
 
Crown moulding is usually used for decorative purposes & serves as a junction between the wall & ceiling. This type of moulding is ideal for ceiling installation due to its lightweight & solid, stable construction. With crown moulding, it is possible & highly desired to layer the mouldings on top of one another to create a unique finished effect.
